Tagged: input method, language, locale
the input mode seems to change when pressing ctrl-space, but the input method never really receives the keystrokes.
? On the affected systems, maybe a window manager global keybind is trapping the sequence ctrl+space+
( check the content of ~/.icewm/keys and ~/.fluxbox/keys or ~/.jwm/keys )
If session startup first loads fcitx… then starts the window manager, I’m guessing that any conflicting keybind(s)would be grabbed by the wm
Both input methods get ctrl-space fine (and therefore the input mode switches correctly). Then the following keys are plain keys without ctrl. Strangely they arrive at ibus in one kvm (of the 1st computer) but do not in the other kvm (of the 2nd computer). Both kvms were created from exactly the same image and were give exactly the same commands upon first boot. Anyway I am happy with fcitx now since it works in all of my 4 computers.
