Ok . Fair enough. I left him with xpenguins as a menu choice. With on and off menu choices. Xpenguins runs in Icewm for him. He got a big kick out it. But he is easy to please.

I guess bling is up to the dude who is the installer more in AntiX and capabilities of hardware. I would not run xpenguins on my IBM T23 or Panasonic CF-48.

Kinda like Slackware in a sense.

        hello bobbiecb and everyone
screen resolution on older displays anyone? 1280×1024 desktop here.
hello PPC . You have settled on sticking with antiX. You sound open-minded about the window manager choices. I pour back what maroc already wrote on forum posted 2017-October-08 topic Flubox task bar. quoting maroc,
“Well, there is a way to add a menu to the toolbar of the pre-installed fluxbox version.

Open the file ~/.fluxbox/init in an editor, find the line that starts with”session.screen0.toolbar.tools:” (here line number 30) and add”RootMenu” at the desired position:

session.screen0.toolbar.tools: RootMenu, workspacename, prevworkspace, nextworkspace, iconbar, systemtray, clock
If you really prefer your menu in the RIGHT hand corner, append”RootMenu” to the end of the line.
You will find the menu represented by a simple triangle…”

For screen resolution I like 1024×768 or 1280×768 most of the time. My eyesite is not so good anymore and the text is hard to read on any of the higher screen settings.

As for eye candy, I am satisfied with a nice screen wallpaper. But I used DOS and Windows for years with very plain desktop screens. Then when XP came along I stayed with the standard grass fields for years. Now I like to download a nice picture for the desktop but other than that I stay with the standard IceWM themes.
