I posted this over at MX forums as well. Please don’t post in both forums.
Trying to get feedback and more importantly fixes.

Can anyone confirm if this chip (Broadcom BCM43142) or any broadcom works out of the box on MX-19 live and installed.
Also if it does work, could anyone test if it works on antiX-19.

      Thanks

It was only possible to access the network when it installed the driver:bcmwl-kernel-source_6.30.223.271+bdcom-0ubuntu5_amd64.deb
In addition, every time the kernel was changed, the driver had to be reinstalled.

BCM94313HMGB no problem on Antix 17. Broken on updated system.
Fresh install of 19. Still broken. Same 19.1.
Replaced card as I had one in the parts box. No Broadcom no more problem.
Will ask kids about issue when school starts. Maybe most still on vers 17.

@Moddit – on 64 bit or 32 bit or both?
            Thanks.

On 19 32 bit then 64, tried several kernel versions on 32 bit.
on 19.1 only 64 bit. last kernel I tried 5.2.15-antix1-amd64-smp.

Sorry too worried to open the netbook and put the broadcom card back in
for further testing, several case clips broken already and major disassembly reqd.

In available thinkpads this card is not in BIOS whitelist.

Will see if I can scrounge or borrow a mini itx board or computer with the required slot,
              or an adapter.

Not a 4314, but my Dell D620 has a BRCM 4311 which wouldn’t work on antiX 19 until after it was installed to the hard drive. I put in some posts with logs etc the past few months.

I could help test if you had new code to try.
