      Should I be worried that user “www-data” is running apache2? I dont recall seeing this before. Is there any way to find out what program spawned this process?

        If you are running a server then what you see is normal.
        www-data is the user that web servers on Debian Ubuntu (Apache, nginx, for example) use by default for normal operation.
