      Hola!

For some reason I always seem to run into issues with antiX. This time, when updating the menu from the control centre to show an entry, hitting Apply seems to have wiped out the Applications menu entirely. This is true for all desktops. As this is user specific, it should not even have been able to write to /usr/share where the links are pointing, is that correct? All very odd. Previously I had installed LXDE and then removed it again and since then there were some issues with new application installations not updating the menu any more.

Can anyone advise how to regenerate the Applications menu?

      Many Thanks.

You poke around in there and copy things. Sounds though like you did a incorrect syntax on your menu entry and everything below that won’t show now because of your edit. That is why I make backups before I edit anything.

When you removed lxde, did you remove lxmenu-data as well?

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Install it and see if your menus come back

Thanks anti. Unfortunately they didn’t. Is there any command one needs to run to make the system update menus?

                    Try update-menus in a terminal.
