I tried to send the attachment “Dados_do_Download_do_Opera_12-09-2020.zip” three times, in the three attempts it showed the message next to the compressed file “File not uploaded”. The zip files are not being transferred. Try renaming the zip extention to something else, maybe .xyz just to see if that helps.

Correct. I wanted to shorten the error message, but i think I will replace it with the full word.

This new version only contains the URL generating option, so the rest of the script works exactly the same.
I want to make emphasis that the script still only works on antiX/Debian. The URL list needs to be generated in antiX/Debian, but you can use the URL list to download the package from any Operating System.
I don’t have the expertise to make the script work outside of antiX/Debian.I think Anticapitalist and the antiX team need to look at their potential more closely and take advantage of it in the team.
This is a custom made script for a very specific case. Most people have internet access now adays, so this can be considered a niche project. I really don’t see it worthwhile to distribute it as anything other than a personal script hosted in gitlab.com. Also, I don’t expect to be maintaining it in the future once it reaches maturity. For me, this is a personal script that can be useful to others, but nothing more.

@Xecure – I took the latest version for a spin- it clearly no longer is a “small yad-bash project”- It’s a fully mature off-line repository manager! The interface looks very professional!
Some translation suggestions:
-“Download Dependencies” (Baixar dependencias) – sounds both in english and portuguese too technical- most newbie or basic users don’t really understand what dependencies are- so why not “Download application and dependecies” ( “Baixar programa e dependências)?
– I add this problem before- using GTK buttons that don’t get translated- “help”(ajuda) and “close” (fechar) are not translated in several windows… (it’s a tiny problem- users do understand the icons on those buttons)
– “Filter out” should not be “Filtrar”. Let me explain this one: “To filter” is the portuguese verb “filtrar”. To “filter out” is something like “ignore” or “exclude” (“ignorar” or “excluir”)
– The download dependencies help text has two small typos- it says “3.3” instead of just “3” and, near the end “if you agree,” should be “se você concordar,”Great “Search app” interface. so great in fact that you should ask anticapitalista if he wants to include a dumb down version of your script that newbies can use to search and install apps without using the relatively complex “Synaptic” – a button in antiX’s Package Installer to call that script would be perfect for newbies or even users that do like a simple and uniform GUI to do stuff- I most of the time prefer GUI’s- that’s why I worked on making so many of them 🙂
Overall, this is such a great app that dispite note being needed in most cases (so probably makes no sense do ship out of the box with antiX, it should be packaged and offered in Package Installer, so anyone needing such application can easily install it!

Thanks, PPC. Probably I should replace also the English wording too and simply say “Download programs” (Baixar programas). I sometimes forget I also didn’t know what dependencies meant when I started with linux. I will check the .pot file once I add the new changes to make it easier for any user to understand.
I will be replacing the “Filter out” option for an “Exclude list”, so the option will become a “tick” option “Use a lista de exclusão”. This will be better. Thanks.

I don’t have the expertise to make the script work outside of antiX / Debian.This resource is already perfect, please keep it the way it is, it will be of great help for me to be able to generate this file with the URLs and to be able to download it on any other operating system, this is perfect! (I will do a test starting from the file containing the URLs of Opera).
I agree with almost everything that PPC wrote, if the translation is correct and if I understood it correctly, I didn’t like the idea of making the program installable, the other programs are already like that, installable, yours is much better, because it is portable or executable and does not need to install. I would like all programs to be portable or executable, I know many colleagues who also prefer portability.
PPC, I liked the idea of including it in the antiX ISO, but even so, I prefer that you always have a portable version of the program available without having to be installed to work, that is the magic of this program, which is really not small, it’s a big and very complex thing. The program keeping portable, I soon think of colleagues who prefer ISOs of 700 MB or less of antiX that allow the user to customize the operating system, my-offline-repo.sh will be ideal, what is the size of my- offline-repo.sh and what is the size of Synaptic plus all its dependencies?
It is much easier for the novice user to use my-offline-repo.sh than any other program, besides, the novice user can see exactly where the programs and dependencies are being downloaded, they will not need to keep copying from / var / cache / apt / archives packages to try to reuse them in other offline installations, as I had done before Xecure programs this precious jewel.
When I started studying and researching Linux (in January 2020) I had no idea what packages or dependencies are, this is still a big mess. This I speak for myself, using my-offline-repo.sh makes the migration of the user from MS Windows to antiX less traumatic and less confusing, I will use it in my day to day and for each new installation of antiX or to install new programs on other computers and notebooks without internet access.
I would like Xecure to create an account on https://github.com/ and other platforms to make its program available, so that my-offline-repo.sh could reach as many users as possible, you just won’t want to use my-offline-repo.sh if you don’t know it.

Eu concordo com quase tudo que o PPC escreveu, se a tradução estiver correta e se eu compreendi corretamente, eu não gostei da ideia de tornar o programa instalável, os outros programas já são assim, instaláveis, o seu é muito melhor, porque é portátil ou executável e não precisa instalar. Eu gostaria que todos os programas fossem assim portáteis ou executáveis, eu conheço muitos colegas que também preferem a portabilidade.
PPC, gostei da ideia de incluir na ISO do antiX, mas mesmo assim, eu prefiro que tenha sempre disponível uma versão portátil do programa sem ter que ser instalado para funcionar, isso sim que é a magia deste programa, que realmente não é pequeno, é algo grande e bem complexo. É muito mais fácil para o usuário iniciante usar o my-offline-repo.sh do que qualquer outro programa, além do mais, o usuário iniciante consegue ver exatamente onde os programas e as dependências estão sendo baixadas, não precisarão ficar copiando de /var/cache/apt/archives os pacotes para tentar reaproveitá-los em outras instalações offline, como eu havia feito antes do Xecure programa esta joia preciosa.
Quando eu comecei a estudar e pesquisar sobre Linux (em janeiro de 2020) eu não tinha ideia do que são pacotes ou dependências, isso ainda é uma grande confusão. Isso eu falo por mim mesmo, usar my-offline-repo.sh torna a migração do usuário do MS Windows para o antiX menos traumática e menos confusa, eu o usarei no meu dia a dia e para cada nova instalação do antiX ou para instalar novos programas em outros computadores e notebooks sem acesso a internet.
Eu gostaria que o Xecure criasse uma conta no https://github.com/ e em outras plataformas para disponibilizar o seu programa, para que o my-offline-repo.sh pudesse chegar ao maior número de usuários possíveis, só não vai querer usar o my-offline-repo.sh quem não o conhecer.

I think I have also solved the big dependency list problem. Applying skidoo’s suggestion of using a file (exclude.list) to filter packages, starting with the most basic “required” and “important” packages already installed, excluding those.
I have also replaced “apt-rdepends” with an experimental “compromise” option. I haven’t had that much time for testing it, so results may be worse than “2-levels” option.
If at some point installation fails after using “compromise” option, default back to “ALL” option.Changes in words and adding a “Help” dialog for the configuration window is still waiting for me to have the time. I will try to use some of my freetime during the week to continue improving the script.
@marcelocripe. For the future, next time you see something go wrog, I only need the .repo file generated and the errors.log. the other files are generated based on the output of these two text files.
About registering it in a git repo, as stated in the first page, I have been updating the https://gitlab.com/nXecure/my-offline-repo git project. No intention right now to also register in github, as I don’t think i will be using it more than once.– I add this problem before- using GTK buttons that don’t get translated- “help”(ajuda) and “close” (fechar) are not translated in several windows… (it’s a tiny problem- users do understand the icons on those buttons)
Checking this version, launching with
LANGUAGE=pt ./my-offline-repo.sh
translates all gtk buttons correctly. Maybe I need to try a different setting, but the gtk button translation seems to work on my end.Thanks everyone for the feedback and ideas.
