On antiX 22, 64 bits, runnit (that recently had broken packages related to libreoffice), when I run sudo apt upgrade, I get a warning there’s a new package.
      apt list –upgradable

      tells me this:

      apt list --upgradable
      Listing... Pronto
      xserver-xorg-core/bullseye 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd2 amd64 [upgradable from: 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd1]
N: There are 2 additional versions. Please use the '-a' switch to see them.

sudo apt upgrade tells me there are no new packages.

        Hi PPC
        What does

        apt-mark showhold
        apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-core

        return?

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

          Hi Robin!

          apt-mark showhold returns nothing.

apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-core tells me this:

          apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-core
          xserver-xorg-core:
            Instalado: 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd1
            Candidato: 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd2
            Tabela de Versão:
               2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd2 500
                  500 http://ftp.cica.es/mirrors/Linux/MX-Packages/antix/bullseye bullseye/nosystemd amd64 Packages
           *** 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd1 100
                  100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
               2:1.20.11-1+deb11u3 500
                  500 http://ftp.pt.debian.org/debian bullseye/main amd64 Packages

It says I have 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd1 installed and that there is a candidate: 2:1.20.11-1.0nosystemd2

            Silly question

You did do apt update first?
            What does apt dist-upgrade show?

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

@PPC, why do you have the debian-stable-updates.list not active ?

Well, there seems to exist a broken dependency:

                $ sudo apt-get --simulate install xserver-xorg-core
                Reading package lists... Done
                Building dependency tree... Done
                Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

                  Sorry.
I goofed the bullseye 64bit build.
New fixed debs should appear in the repos soon.

You do a LOT of good things. We can also see that you are definitely a human being!
