I’ve been a long time badwolf browser user, specially on my netbook. Yesterday I noticed that it stopped working on my netbook, after I updated antiX ( 19.X, 64bits).
Today, after running update on my Desktop ( 19.X, 64bits) e noticed the same problem.
Here’s the output I get:$ badwolf (badwolf:6447): dbind-WARNING **: 21:06:44.219: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files Running Badwolf version: 1.0.3 Buildtime WebKit version: 2.28.4 Runtime WebKit version: 2.34.1 webkit-web-extension directory set to: /home/ppc/.local/share/badwolf/webkit-web-extension Configuration directory can be found in: /home/ppc/.config/badwolf Bookmarks: No loadable file found at /home/ppc/.local/share/badwolf/bookmarks.xbel (badwolf:6447): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 21:06:44.220: g_object_ref: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed ** (badwolf:6447): ERROR **: 21:06:44.358: GApplication is required for xdg-desktop-portal access in the WebKit sandbox. Trace/breakpoint trapI tried installing Midori browser on my netbook and got a similar error… Is there anything wrong with webkit?
Also: I tried purging and reinstalling badwolf, After doing that I got the above error…
I have no shortage of browsers but any and all help is apreciated…P.

::I just installed badwolf, then got the same errors as you got when I ran it.
However, installing midori & running it got this:
$ midori (midori:8612): dbind-WARNING **: 18:27:05.929: AT-SPI: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files (WebKitWebProcess:8652): dbind-WARNING **: 18:27:07.340: AT-SPI: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service filesAnd the browser ran for about 1 minute. After I got to antixlinux.com, then tried to log in, it lost its mind:
(WebKitWebProcess:10994): dbind-WARNING **: 18:31:07.017: AT-SPI: Error retrieving accessibility bus address: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown: The name org.a11y.Bus was not provided by any .service files WebKit wasn't able to find a WebVTT encoder. Not continuing without platform support for subtitles. And at this point, it wouldn’t load anything anymore.
So I think you are right about webkit…Attachments:

::Same Badwolf issue here; used to work just fine. Any ideas for remedy?
I don't care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it.

::Some days ago all browsers that used Webkit stopped working on antiX… Let’s wait and see if anyone can fix this…

::Is it only on antiX-19 or also on antiX-21?
Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::@anticapitalista
I literally googled the error (unfortunately trusty old duckduckgo didn’t help me on this one) I got and found a “fix”: open the terminal and type:
export WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX=0I tried this:
export WEBKIT_FORCE_SANDBOX=0 ; badwolfand badwolf ran just fine… but I confess that I’m not sure if force disabling sandboxing is a positive thing…
With this info in had, is there anything that can be done to solve this problem?P.
