A while ago I read something about bauh, a kind of universal application manager/installer. Recently I ran into it again – it seems a great project ( https://github.com/vinifmor/bauh ), and something that, in my opinion, Linux desperatly needs- a single “app store”- an all-in-one stop to install all kinds of apps for Linux.
I tested the webapps part (a strange but kind of useful idea, for basic users) and appimages – I tried a bit, but could not find a way to get it to manager .deb packages…
Even if it just manages webapps, appimages and flatpaks, I think it would be a nice addition to antiX (either installed by default or just available in the Package Installer)P.

::That sounds great, let’s hope it won’t be a problem for the stability of the system and we will soon be able to enjoy something like this.

::Hello PPC.
I tested bauh-0.10.2-x86_64.AppImage.
I was able to download AppImage and after applying the commands in the terminal:$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install aptitude
After that, the .deb packages became available for installation. I was able to install programs with bauh-0.10.2-x86_64.AppImage that Synaptic cannot “see”.
Thank you so much for sharing this more important solution.– – – – –
Olá PPC.
Eu testei o bauh-0.10.2-x86_64.AppImage.
Eu consegui baixar AppImage e após aplicar os comandos no terminal:$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install aptitude
April 22, 2022 at 9:39 pm #81919Member

..Hello,
Yes, it is interesting, I tested it too …
bauh (ba-oo), formerly known as fpakman, is a graphical interface for managing your Linux software (packages/applications). It currently supports the following formats: AppImage, ArchLinux packages (including AUR), Debian packages, Flatpak, Snap and Web applications.
Key features
A management panel where you can: search, install, uninstall, upgrade, downgrade and launch you applications (and more…)
Tray mode: it launches attached to the system tray and publishes notifications when there are software updates available
System backup: it integrates with Timeshift to provide a simple and safe backup process before applying changes to your system
Custom themes: it’s possible to customize the tool’s style/appearance. More at Custom themesApril 24, 2022 at 9:02 am #82001Member
