Yes, sure it’s possible to install any older or newer kernel that’s available in the repos. go to
control-centre > software > Package Installer and look for kernels (easy way)
or might also look in control-centre > software > Manage Packages (synaptic) for linux-images
After installation normally the system will always boot into the newest installed kernel, if you want to boot into an older one you can do this over the “advanced options” on the bootscreen.
If the older kernel works for you it can be made permanent.
