Thank you for all your help getting antix installed. It looks good and I’m excited. Except the Bluetooth keyboard won’t connect.

It’s not a very good photo but it looks like Bluetooth isn’t set up “out of the box”. Which is fine but can I get it set up WITHOUT a keyboard. My keyboard needs Bluetooth.

Am I going to have to get a usb keyboard to get this done or is there a way to proceed withou a keyboard.

Allow me a question: How do you access your BIOS settings with only a bluetooth keyboard?

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

            @Robin
            Mac doesn’t have BIOS
With a bluetooth keyboard, in any case with some Mac you can do something:

When I booted up I was still running a Mac that was connected to its keyboard. Now that antix is on there, I guess that’s out the window.

I have my Non-apple Bluetooth mouse working but I don’t know how to access whether the computer itself can find the keyboard.

The pic I tried to upload with the error message didn’t load.

              It says

              Connection to BlueZ failed

“BlueZ daemon is not running blue man-manager cannot continue. This probably means that there were no Bluetooth adapters connected or Bluetooth daemon was not started”

I’m looking for a plug in keyboard but in the meantime I just wonder if I can get it to do anything without it. Is there a software keyboard hiding somewhere in the package? 🤪

                Connection to BlueZ failed

                hmmmm..
this means that someone told to antiX to start blueman and that it cannot work.

I don’t know which Mac model you have:
                – does it have a switch to make the bluetooth on-off?
                – when booting can you give some input with your keyboard AFTER the chime and BEFORE that antiX is charged?
                – which procedure did you use to install antiX? This later question involves also: I suppose that when you installed antiX your keyboard was working, because of the fact that MacOS was still on the HD. Have you told to the install program to save the changes that you did during the live session?

Bluetooth is turned off in connman per default.
                  control-centre > network > wifi connect > Status
                  Look for bluetooth

You could try to use »barrier«, in case you have a second PC nearby:

                    https://www.linux-bibel-oesterreich.at/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=215

This tool will allow you to share mouse and keyboard among different OS. Implies you are able to install it in the first place, so you probably need a keyboard directly connected beforehand…

(When using firefox you’ll need to install Traduzir Paginas Web by Felipe PS to read the Austrian page in English language — or try google translate)

Is there a software keyboard hiding somewhere in the package?

I believe there is no virtual keyboard installed by default in antiX.
But you could try to install one of the packages florence or xvkbd.
Both are present in antiX 21 and 19 for many architectures.

Again, difficult without a working keyboard plugged. You can always do without a mouse, but mostly never without keyboard.

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
