This post is related to my previous post on the failure of antiX-19 to automount drives.

Mountbox in Antix-19 also is not working properly after a clean install of antiX-19 on my old i386 laptop.
I cannot mount my USB Flash drive, formatted in exFAT, using antiX-19 MountBox.
antiX Mountbox does not show any errors after I run it but when I take a closer look, the USB flash drive is still not mounted.

The only way I can mount my USB flash drive is using the terminal as follows:

      sudo mkdir /media/Lexar
      sudo mount -t exfat /dev/sdb1 /media/Lexar

(Of course one only needs to create the mountpoint directory once. One does not need to create the “/media/Lexar” mountpoint directory for any subsequent mounts).

I am surprised that the antiX mountbox program is not working in antiX-19. I would have thought that antiX mountbox is just a GUI for “sudo mount -t exfat dev/sdb1 /media/Lexar”.

Anyone else having problems with mounting drives via antiX-19 mountbox?

Yes, there is a problem with mounting exfat drives via mountbox.
Not a bug as such since mountbox was around before anyone used the windows proprietary exfat format.
Having said that, I’ll see if we can improve it so it does work with exfat.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Thanks. It would be great if you could get mountbox to support USB drives formatted in exFAT.
If you cannot easily do it, perhaps you could get mountbox to display at least a message informing users that mountbox does not support mounting drives formatted in exFAT.
