::Hi,
I believe some of the topics have been already dealt with in the forum.
Did you make a search the forum prior to asking?
In any case, if you ask for help, the ones trying to provide would significantly benefit from more information:
A) It is useful to provide more information about the system and HW, please provide output ofinxi -Fxz.
B) It would be useful to provide more information about the bugs/troubles.
What exactly did you do and what were the results; e.g. “when I open … gets so many bugs” is too vague. Also, some issues could be due to corrupted download of the ISO.
Did you verify integrity by performing a check-sum on the downloaded file prior creating live USB/installing?Regarding the individual topics:
1) Auto-mount/start:
If you wish to auto-start an application when you login, you may edit the file ‘~/.desktop-session/startup’ manually.2) Desktop alternative = switching the desktop environments:
Logout and use F1 to switch among the desktops prior to new login.
The last used is remembered and does not have to be set in subsequent logins.
That has always worked for me.3) Mount Windows partitions and others without root:
You may edit ‘/etc/fstab’ manually (first, backup the current one in case you make a mistake!)
Useful commands: lsblk, blkid4) Audio:
Glad you have resolved it or at least find it easy to do so.Comment:
I usually do the changes by editing corresponding files rather than relying on distribution specific GUIs.
This approach should be exercised with care and it may not suite all other people.May 8, 2021 at 7:16 am #58901MemberModdIt
::Trying to understand the problems brings me to thinking you have logged in as root
where you get a naked desktop.
Please only log in as root in a rescue situation.or have a defective installation,
I am uanable to confirm the problems you describe on 19.3 fully installed to SSD and
all updates or a runit a1 updated or a2 running live also updated to latest packages.
I did not try to replicate as super user/rootAs sybok pointed out we information on exactly what you do and what happens to be
able to help. Did you check your downloaded ISO, that is also an important point.May 8, 2021 at 7:25 pm #58958ModeratorBobC
::Post the output sybok asked for.
Go to a terminal and run antixcc.sh. Move the terminal screen if you need to so we can see both windows and take a screenshot showing the problem and the terminal window, and post it here.
