I realised that smtube isn’t configured correct to work with youtube-dl. The fix: Open smtube-view-preferences-player and andd an entry for youtube-dl with this code included:
-e youtube-dl %u -f 22 -o "/tmp/%(title)s-%(id)s.%(ext)s". This will save the files in your tmp folder.
I wasn’t able to create an audio download only option which also doesnt work.

It’s not a bug – it is the default.

Well if its default (legal issues?) why is smtube and mps-youtube preinstalled at all? I doubt that this software has many users anyway.
I think the software which is preinstalled should work without any issues. If it doesnt, take it out of the distroanticapitalista

Certainly not. If you find any bug in fundamental software like the office programm or browser it still has to stay until until you find a better software.
But smtube is a software with very little use to most users.
I don’t want to insult anybody. So far i like antix otherwise i wouldn’t write in this forum.

I ll probably will never use it anyway. I just wondered what additional feature this programm might offer to me. Thats why i tested it.
The most fundamental feature to me seems to be the download of youtube Videos and this didn’t work out of the box.
When you say thats default setting and not a bug i wonder why the developers don’t delete the download option.
I don’t want to make any fuss about this. Just think it’s not the best promotion for a system if you have to do a research because the default settings are wrong.

smtube is included mainly as a player of youtube videos, not a downloader.
