Firefox is a complex program. It can be built from source code but it is an effort that takes a lot of time and has quite a few prerequisites. You do not necessarily have to be an accomplished programmer to build it, but you do have to have some software building and/or system administration background to do it and a lot of patience. If you take on this effort, you are best advised to have “other activities” going on in parallel, otherwise you will be staring at the screen for a very long time!
