      It was not a stress testing. 🙂 You would easily reproduce this if you are surfing heavy websites in multi tabs, on a 2GB ram computer.

      Thanks. Accidentally I reproduced this condition on laptop with 4GB memory using the latest MX KDE.

      Looks like MX KDE is not to blame for this failure but consistent with your conjecture all Linux does not seem to handle such simple condition as running out of memory.
      Extrapolating this notion it may seem like fundamental flaws in system architecture are being covered up with higher amounts of memory required so typical user will not experience this issue too often… Producing junk system code and covering up by throwing more hardware to be able to run…
      If such is reality then I would say antiX seems in the best position as it starts with low memory use and handles memory recovery pretty well, perhaps thanks to using light window managers instead of bloated DEs, which just aggravate these flaws…
