I am looking for a small and fast linux that is able to run virtualbox or vmware. Can AntiX do that? Grateful for any suggestions!

Hi, VirtualBox can be installed in antiX stable (thanks to collaboration of antiX and MX Linux).
I have tried in antiX testing and it failed due to some dependencies.

It worked well in antiX-19 stable, 64-bit.
I have recently upgraded to the not-released-yet antiX-21 (based on Debian 11, bullseye) and the VirtualBox is not installable yet (due to dependencies; last version of VB depends on older Python than the present one).

        Few comments:
        1) CPU should support virtualization and it should be enabled in BIOS.
        2) Virtualization requires some resources of your PC (CPU+RAM).

On bullseye, I installed the virtualbox package from sid, just in case you ever need it and it isn’t yet available in the repos.

I know not of VMWare, but virtualbox works well on antiX (64 bits).

Vmware – I had it installed in antiX 19. Worked fine. I have not yet tested in antiX 21 B2.

Hi! A tip: install virtualbox using antiX’s Package Installer, it’s available right there!
