Hi, I cannot install kernel 6.1.18 in my 64-bit antiX-systems (both testing and stable), I tried to install it with the corresponding headers.

The issue in antiX-testing is described in the post https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/testing-resolution-too-low-higher-not-available/#post-102547 .

The problem with antiX-stable is that the VirtualBox drivers fail to build.

Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 6.1.18-antix.1-amd64-smp (x86_64)
      Consult /var/lib/dkms/virtualbox-guest/6.1.22/build/make.log for more information.

Probably, this could be due to mixing different versions in antiX repositories (not sure if MX Linux has the same situation or all related packages are of closer versions).
      6.1.22* = virtualbox-guest-dkms
      5.2.4* = virtualbox-guest-utils-dbgsym
      7.0.6* = virtualbox-guest-x11

        purge virtualbox-guest-dkms virtualbox-guest-utils-dbgsym

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

          @anticapitalista: Thanks for your reply.
The latter package you suggested was not installed in my case.

Purged, another error occurs due to Broadcom

Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 6.1.18-antix.1-amd64-smp (x86_64)
          Consult /var/lib/dkms/broadcom-sta/6.30.223.271/build/make.log for more information.

The installation passes but with error, again.

Probably the broadcom dkms is unable to deal with a 6.1 series kernel on stable.
If you don’t use broadcom, purge it.
I also had to purge xfat-dkms

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

antiX-stable: Ethernet is Realtek, no wi-fi, hence I did purge it, hence
              sudo apt purge virtualbox-guest-dkms broadcom-sta-dkms
did the job in my case because ‘exfat-dkms’ was not installed on the stable system.

antiX-testing: Removing ‘exfat’ did the trick
              sudo apt purge exfat-dkms

              Thanks for the support!
