I am fairly new to AntiX Linux. I am having difficulty seeing my
externalSHARE partition using file manager.when I navigate to Menu > Control Centre > Disks Mount Connected Devices
I can see the list of partitions when I click “List” I can see the list of ext partitions, so I can see /dev/sda12 so I enter this in the field “Device” then enter /media/share in the “Mount point” field then click mount, a window opens with folder called “sr0-2” so my change didn’t seem to take effect.
is there something I am doing wrong? I have been using other Linux systems for a couple of years but normally I just use the “Disks” application to auto mount partitions and they appear in the file manager window.
Any help would be appreciated. or even if you point me in the right direction concerning reading material that would be great.

::Did you try to access the external partition with spacefm ?
menu-> applications-> system-tools->spacefmIs it really an external partition or is it intern ?

::menu-> applications-> system-tools->spacefm
thanks for quick reply. sorry, it’s a separate SHARE partition but on the same hard drive. there are several other partitions on there also.
I tried your suggestion…. menu-> applications-> system-tools->spacefm
… but got error message window…
Run: Mount /dev/sda12
Status: Finished with error ( exit status 32 )
udevil: /dev/sda12 is known to mount – running mount as current user
udevil: warning 45: options ignored for device in fstab (or specify mount point)
mount: mount point /media/SHARE does not existdoes this indicate the cause of the problem?

::thanks again, that worked perfectly. many thanks for your help
when I reboot, I can navigate to the /media/SHARE partition without any problems.
I would like to see a way to show this partition in the default “~(Thumbs)” window when I open File Manager from the menu. I thought it would show when I click on “Show extra details” icon in file manager but no joy.
Is there an easy way to do this?
Do I always need to click… “menu-> applications-> system-tools->spacefm” to see this partition?
Or is there way to get a view similar to the LH partition view within Thunar File Manager?
Thanks again for your help and assistance, it’s much appreciated.

::The file-manager from the menu is rox-filer, it’s the same like the desktop-icon “Files”.
You can navigate from there to your /media/SHAREAttachments:

::Thanks caprea, a couple of clicks gets me there.
EDIT: AntiX is a bit different from other linux distros, but must say it is very good on my old 32-bit hp530 laptop. it is now very fast indeed!

::If you like to get there really fast you could also drag and drop with the mouse the SHARE-folder from there to the desktop.
Or you could create a menu-entry for the folder.

::… or you could use ‘pinning’ function and add it to Rox Panel (Quick Access Bar). Post #21777 (with screenshot how-to).
