      Hello,
I just began with Antix and I have a Key problem.
At the left bottom I see a Usb key i removablecon. By clicking a little window appears : ” A removable drive with a mounted partition was not found. It is safe to unplug the drive ” But I have no drive plugged … and when I try to use a USB key it doesn’t appear. How resolve this problem ? Is it something from my install ? the Antix live program I used before ? Thank you for your help ; it is not practice to remain like that !

Not quite sure what you are seeing, (I use Fluxbox), but normally if you installed without changing any settings, you will be using IceWM, & it will automatically mount a USB drive when you plug it in.

(There is an option to change that in the Control Panel.)

If that is not your problem, give us some more details. 🙂

that icon is not a system notification, its a shortcut to the unmounter app.

nothing is running, its a launcher shortcut.

@dolphin_oracle is correct. If you want to browse the files of your usb key, in fluxbox for example a file manager window will automatically pop up showing the contents of the drive. If that’s not happening for you, I would suggest opening the control centre (in the right-click context menu… can be activated by right clicking anywhere on your desktop) and select Disks and then Configure Automounting.

Of course if you don’t want to bother with all that you can click Mount Connected Devices in the same menu, take note of the drive name and open it in your file manager manually.

I hope that helps you. And welcome to the antiX community. We hate capitalism and systemd, and love ancient PC hardware. We’re like a bizarre space alien commune that have crash landed on earth, basically xD

              Hello,
I think I found my problem and the way to solve it : I tried tu plug different USB keys ; it’s not very easy to know their types 1,2 or 3 : I did ” lsusb –verbose ” and I saw that there is no relation Type+color-of-the-little tongue ( is it the right word ?) Unfortunately ! I thought that the problem was there : no . Some are readable, some not ! I’m going to clean out all my keys (some are very old and don’t display the same things on my other computer- DFlinux ! ! ! ! ! )
I thank you for your answers. I’ll be a young user even if I’m very old …and sorry for my bad English.

Glad you worked out what was going on. 🙂

With those old USB keys – I would try to re-create them with a new MBR, then format them & put a new file system on them, (that way some may remain usable).
