      Hi all,

Since Thursday night I haven’t been able to connect from my home network. The attempt just times out. Can’t even ping the site.

My neighbor on the same internet cable network can connect.

I CAN connect via my phone cellular internet.

Not sure if my home ip address has been marked as spam or if I have a strange problem with my router configuration (just looked but didn’t see anything there, but not sure what to check.

Have to see if I can use a different ip address.

      oops suggested using a VPN.

Can one of the moderators check if I have been banned by the security software?

      Thanks in advance.

So far I can tell you the problem is not related to the spam software.
Is it only the antiX forum you can’t connect to with the cable network ?
        Did you try another browser?

          Thanks for checking that, caprea.

It is only the antixforum.com site.

Tried with Safari and Google on iPad and Firefox on two different computers running antiX.

I checked dashboard for spam users and you are not on the list stevesro.

                Hi rokytnji,

                Thanks for checking.

Did you search for “stevesro” or “stevesr0”? My user name is “stevesr0”.

                  Hi all,

Connected computer directly to modem, which resulted in new WAN IP address. Immediately have access to the website.

I will restore router connection and see if I get any problem when the modem provides that device a WAN IP address. If the problem returns, I will try changing the MAC address of the router and see if that fixes it.

I will report back after that.

                    Hi all,

I just changed the MAC address on the router and my WAN IP address (provided by my ISP) changed and HERE I AM!!

This (I guess) can be marked solved, but I have no idea why the former WAN IP address couldn’t connect to (apparently) this particular site.

If I find it happening again, I will be suspicious that it is related to the site software…(but I tend to be paranoid <g>).

(By implication, it apparently WASN’T due to some block placed by the router. As to the modem, it comes from the ISP and they don’t allow us to examine its settings (and I am not “clever” enough to hack in).

                    Hope it lasts!

When I searched steve. I did not rely on a search box. I went down down the names physically and looked for anybody named steve in the “S” listings since it is all in alphabetical order.

Good that you got sorted also. I love it when of my plans come together.

Glad you got it sorted. I have often solved weird issues like this my rebooting the router, or sometimes the entire LAN. Sometimes there is some sort of glitch in the electronics.

                            Hi all,
                            Glad for you.
You are lucky, here I can not change these basics settings to test with my ISP named Free, blocked here for the “MX Forum” only.

                              Hi oops,

Thanks for you assistance with my plea on the MXlinux/AntiX subforum, when I couldn’t easily post here.

I would like to hear more details.

If english isn’t your primary language, would it be easier for you to describe this in your own language and I can use Google translate to better understand the details. I realize that as a permanent noobie, I might not be able to offer help.

                              But others might.

                              Best.

… Thank you stevesr0, but it is not a big issue for me, I have a workaround for the moment (only the MX Forum is concerned).
I have probably to contact my ISP if this situation persists.
