I keep on getting this error and I don’t know how to fix it. Any advise would be most welcome!

This means a package was damaged on transport, or the mirror server distributes a damaged package.
1.) Try:
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
and then repeat what you wanted originally to do.
If the error still shows up:
2.) Try changing the download mirror in use.
Then repeat step 1.)
