cli-aptiX problems

Hi everyone,

cli-aptix seems to have some problems. I just tried to install simplescreenrecorder and to install it cli-aptiX wanted to remove a ton of packages on the same time, including antix-installer, network-assistant, antix-user, format-usb. sudo apt install simplescreenrecorder works as expected and removes nothing.

Other issues. cli-aptiX lists several installed packages as uninstalled.

When starting cli-aptiX it says:
“Checking source files …
It appears that at least one list file is missing”

Not sure what this means.

hi, i checked on 64bit antiX21 full version and yes….. got the same [[[bad]]] result as you.

Checked for an error log and found that program writes a logfile to /var/log/cli-aptiX.log
inside it mentioned 2 lines about “missing lists” and both were bullseye security.

The debian wiki pages “NewInBullseye” and “SourcesList” explain that the sources.list lines for bullseye-security should be

deb http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ bullseye-security main
deb-src http://deb.debian.org/debian-security/ bullseye-security main

and editing /etc/apt/sources.list.d/debian.list will at least clear the “one or more list is missing” error. Not completely out of the woods though. It still tries to install ?suggested or ?recommended packages and still wants to remove those several already installed packages.

You can just skip using that aptiX program and use commandline “sudo apt-get install simplescreenrecorder”. I tested that operation and it is successful. Also checked and confirmed the packageinstaller program and the synaptic program both can install simplescreenrecorder successfully [[[and they don’t try to autoinstall “recommended” packages]]]

oh, I did not keep simplescreenrecorder after testing the install, didn’t even try launching it, removed its package immediately after the test.

Can confirm apt-get install method works fine on antiX 19 32bit full for simplescreenrecorder also, even when this is a different version than the one present in bullseye:

But obviously this is not an issue with the 0.4x versions but with the installer used. At least here no packages were removed at all while installing.

Do you have a better replacement or recommendation? Or did you simply remove it due to lack of interest in this kind of programs? (I got the impression it works fine last time I tried it to run, but had not much time for checking it extensively)

Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.

Really just a lack of free space at the moment. Used simplescreenrecorder in the past, but no immetiate use for it.

This is an already known problem. Best way now to work around it, is saying no, no more updates.Then you can do the installation of packages, upgrades or kernel installation or whatever.

If you still have a problem to install simplescreenrecorder, even when trying to install per apt in terminal, please post
