I use cli-aptiX on two machines with antixcore19-LXDE installed.
One machine has had antix 32bit installed for a while, without any cli-aptiX updating/downloading issues at all. It works flawlessly.
Yesterday, on the other machine, I installed antix 64bit and then ran cli-aptiX. It threw up the following on screen errors:

      Hit :5 http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian buster InRelease
      Err :2 http://mxlinux.mirrors.uk2.net/packages/antix/buster buster InRelease
The following signatures were invalid: EXPKEYSIG DB36CDF3452F0C20 antiX (antix
        repo) <repo@antixlinux.com>
      Reading package lists… Done
W: GPG error: http://mxlinux.mirrors.uk2.net/packages/antix/buster buster InRelease: The following signatures were invalid: EXPKEYSIG DB36CDF3452F0C20 antiX (antix
        repo) <repo@antixlinux.com>
E: The repository http://mxlinux.mirrors.uk2.net/packages/antix/buster buster InRelease is not signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can’t be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

      How can I fix this?
If the answer is in apt-secure(8) manpage, how do I get to that?
Many thanks in advance for any help with this.

Thanks Skidoo – so sorry – I must be blind, either that or posting too early in the morning !!!

After I had the EXPKEYSIG problem, I had already reinstalled antixcore19-LXDE 64bit.
However, with ‘apt update’, I was unable to download xorg, xserver-xorg-video-intel, and all the other files needed to get antixcore fully functioning, something I have never had a problem with before.

This time the error messages didn’t mention expkeysig, but said “failed to fetch and download from: … deb.debian.org, http://ftp.uk.debian.org, security.debian.org …”

You may not be able to connect to the internet. See ceni’s configuration. Try pinging a web page. The first step is to make sure you are connected.

NOTE: EVEN F YOU START AGAIN WITH ANTIX CORE YOU WILL STILL NEED TO APPLY THE EXPRESSIG FIX AS THE ANTIX REPO SECURITY KEY WILL NEED TO BE UPDATED ON YOUR SYSTEM NO MATTER WHAT EDITION YOU START OUT FROM.

Xecure, many thanks for your helpful comments. I did try method-1 for the expkeysig fix link given by skidoo. It didn’t work. As I’m only working as root, without X and therefore no gui, I don’t know how to use method-2, which appears to need a gui. At this step, my linux skills are becoming limiting, linked to the amount of spare time I can allocate to this problem. Yes, it seems I’m not connected to the internet. I’m using the wired connection to router. Being realistic, I think unfortunately I may have to abandon this, until a fix is put into the antixcore19 iso-file and then try again.

If you can solve the network issues (using ceni to make sure you are connected to ethernet, ping https://google.com to confirm you are connected), you can download the .deb package listed in anticapitalista’s EXPRESSIG solution using the wget command
                wget http://repo.antixlinux.com/buster/pool/main/a/antix-archive-keyring/antix-archive-keyring_20019.3.14_all.deb
                and then install using
                sudo apt install ./antix-archive-keyring_20019.3.14_all.deb

You can do a lot of things on the terminal without the need for a GUI. If you cannot get it to work or you want to wait a bit, in the coming weeks the new antiX 19.4 will be released, including its core edition, and it will include the apt signature fixes.

Thanks so much for your help Xecure – I really appreciate your thoughts on the above.
You’ve inspired me not to give up just yet & have a further go – if I can’t fix it, it’ll be worth waiting for antixcore19.4 & the fixes for this issue.
Thanks again & have a very good day.
