CMST – Critical Error

Following dbus update from 1.14.4-1.0nosystemd1 to 1.14.6-1.0nosystemd1 I am experiencing occasional CMST – Critical Error:
”
Unable to create an interface to connman on the system bus.
CMST will not be able to communicate with connman.
”
It does happen sometimes, not all the time, and on faster laptops appears to be less frequent. I had to fall back to the previous dbus version 1.14.4-1.0nosystemd1, which did not have this issue in my experience.
Spent lots of time playing with timing of CMST in desktop session startup but have not found a workaround yet…
I believe this new version of dbus found its way into antiX 23 alpha as well…
Laptops on which this is happening after boot (irrarically, as mentioned above):

– Thinkpad X61 – Core2Duo
– Thinkpad Z61P – Core2Duo
– Thinkpad X220 – i5
– Thinkpad T410 – i5

If a solution is not known, I am not asking anyone to spend time on this issue, as the previous version of dbus works fine with CMST/connman…
Otherwise any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Update in a separate post:
I have done lots of testing on different laptops trying to narrow down this CMST/connman issue and now I am not sure if it was dbus upgrade or something else upgraded about a week ago that is causing this erratic issue. It is very time consuming to narrow down the culprit though. Some timing of starting processes, where CMST starts when connman is not ready yet, judging by network readiness state. Connman is not ready seems not a timing CMST/connman issue but actually connman service is down and never comes up by itself. Manually restarting connman fixes connection issue for the current session.
I will report any progress in determining what cases connman to not come up sometimes….
