Good Day folks,
So I am getting a message after I run
sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade
The following packages have been kept back:
cmus cmus-plugin-ffmpeg
When I run
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
I get
The following packages will be REMOVED:
libavcodec58
The following NEW packages will be installed:
libaribb24-0 libavcodec-extra58 libvo-amrwbenc0
The following packages will be upgraded:
cmus cmus-plugin-ffmpeg
2 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 1 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 5,318 kB of archives.
When I run
sudo apt-cache rdepends libavcodec58
I see that a LOT of packages depend on libavcodec58, So I am a bit hesitant to remove libavcodec58
What to do? I am afraid that if I upgrade cmus that I am going to break so many other programs?
This package replaces the libavcodec58 package and contains the following additional codecs:
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/libavcodec-extra58

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
Well, I upgraded, and no issues. haha.
I am so used to Arch that I was expecting a breakage somehow, but it’s Debian, so…. no issues here
Thanks Anticapitalista
