Bonjour,
J’ai voulu utiliser Simple Scan mais le systéme ne détecte pas le scanner et ne connait pas la commande “scangearmp” sur le terminal. Quel est le bon chemin pour mettre en place le scanner ?

It depends on the model of the Canon scanner or ‘multifunction’ HW (printer + scanner) which command has to be used.
There are two versions of Canon ScanGear so, after the install, you would start them either with ‘scangearmp’ or with ‘scangearmp2’.
If one doesn’t know what one has installed, simply trying both commands is the easiest way to check.
Important thing is to turn on the scanner or printer/scanner first since they will shut off automatically, but not turn on automatically when needed, as opposed to usage under the Windows (under Windows, you would open ScanGear with scanner still turned off, which would automatically turn on after press on ‘Scan’).
Otherwise, I can only say that both methods are working fine — scanning with ScanGear and with SimpleScan — including scaning over WiFi.
SimpleScan has a kind of ‘lag-bug’ — upon start, it’ll regularly say — no device found.
Short time after, one can start using it. That’s because it needs some time to ‘find’ the scanner in local NW.Actually the same could happen when scanning with Canon ScanGear — it also does search upon every start and one has to wait 1/2 min sometimes.

Il existe deux versions de Canon ScanGear donc, après l’installation, vous pourrez les lancer soit avec ‘scangearmp’ ou avec ‘scangearmp2’.
Si vous ne savez pas lequel installer, essayer les deux commandes se trouve être la façon la plus simple de le tester.
Le plus important est d’allumer en premier le scanner ou imprimante/scanner car elles vont s’éteindre automatiquement, mais elles ne vont pas s’allumer automatiquement en cas de besoin, contrairement à ce qui se ferait sous Windows (sous Windows, vous devriez ouvrir ScanGear avec le scanner éteint, ce qui l’allumerait automatiquement après un appui sur ‘Scan’).
Autrement, je peux dire que les deux méthodes fonctionnent bien — scanner avec ScanGear et SimpleScan — y compris scanner via WiFi.
SimpleScan a une sorte de ‘bug’ — au démarrage, il va régulièrement afficher — aucun périphérique trouvé.
Quelques instants après, on peut commencer à l’utiliser. Tout ceci parce qu’il a besoin de temps pour ‘trouver’ le scanner en réseau local.En fait la même chose pourrait se produire en scannant avec Canon ScanGear — il fait une recherche à chaque démarrage et on doit attendre parfois 1/2 min.

Postscript:
I’ll try to attach working ‘scangearmp2’ .deb driver — don’t know if WordPress will allow it.
The driver is for Pixma MG 3600 Series, but it works for many other scanners too.
Included is also icon and starter (which has to be edited to find your icon).Attached, you’ll also find two screenshots of SimpleScan.
If it doesn’t recognize your scanner in less then 1 min.:
1. Open Settings Menu
2. Check SourcesJust for the illustration, antiX 17.4 LIVE (OOTB, NOTHING installed) which scans fine with SimpleScan over WiFi.

you can get the same error even on running connection because of
‘recognition time’, until SW finds HW in local NW — ‘lag-bug’)2. Give it some time and it will find and connect the scanner
(to check, open ‘Preferences’ …)3. Preferences/Scan Source (and all SimpleScan settings)
4. Et voila … Enjoy
You don’t necessarily need ScanGear software, except if it’s because of additional settings.

Vous avez toujours le Canon PIXMA MX497 ?Puis vous avez téléchargé ce pilote de scanner
ScanGear MP Ver. 3.10 for Linux (debian Packagearchive)
Il est alors disponible dans les Downloads.
Cliquez avec la souris sur le fichier tar.gz pour le décompresser.
Ensuite, utilisez gdebi, comme vous l’avez fait avec vivaldi,
et installerOuvert en gdebi

J’ai une CANON PIXMA 495 qui marche très bien en impression avec AntiX …!
