Recently, after running cli-aptiX to update antiX21, I got the notification below regarding configuring grub-pc. However, when I highlight “OK” at the bottom of the window and press the ‘Enter’ key, nothing happens. As a result, updating is incomplete and each time I try to update, I’m prompted to use dpkg –configure -a, which leads me to the same unresponsive window. Also, maximizing this window doesn’t complete the unfinished sentence, i.e. “…which makes it less reliable and”

::@mikey,
use in terminal
sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc
and you will get the same window.Many thanks for your reply but this didn’t fix it – terminal output is as follows:
$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc /usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: grub-pc is broken or not fully installedI don’t think grub-pc is broken, as I still get the grub-screen showing at boot, with the correct OS entries, and sudo update-grub works without any problem.

::SOLVED!
I found the solution here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/1121819/apt-get-hangs-on-setting-up-grub-pc
The solution is use the TAB-key (not RETURN-key as I was doing) to continue from the configuring grub-pc window to the window showing the options of where to install grub. I seem to get stuck sometimes on some of the simplest things!▪ 32-bit antix19.4-core+LXDE installed on :

::A suggestion would be a grub-repair from a usb live stick.
