manpage excerpt
conky is a system monitor for X. Conky can display just about anything, either on your root desktop or in its own window. […]Conky has more than 250 built in objects, including support for a plethora of OS stats (uname, uptime, CPU usage, mem usage, disk usage, “top” like process stats, and network monitoring, just to name a few), built in IMAP and POP3 support, built in support for many popular music players (MPD, XMMS2, BMPx, Audacious), and much much more. Conky can display this info either as text, or using simple progress bars and graph widgets, with different fonts and colours.

::Toward precluding confusion in case you follow the links posted above and read documentation, I should mention that antiX17 Full ships “conky-legacy” (conky v1.9.0)
http://antixlinux.com/stretch/pool/main/c/conky/http://metadata.ftp-master.debian.org/changelogs/main/c/conky/conky_1.10.6-1_changelog
conky (1.10.0-1) unstable; urgency=medium* New upstream release.
– This release introduces a new Lua-based conkyrc configuration format.
See debian/NEWS for further information. The newer “conky-all” is also available, if you want it
(I do not. Maybe later, eh. Right now the Lua version seems like a par-for-the-course break/fix scenario.)
(old version == if it ain’t broke, don’t “fix” it dammit) -
