Post Antix 21 update I cannot get Connectshares to mount previous shares that where working before. The IP is mounting, but none of the shared folders. I attempted to delete and recreate the configuration file and now when I load Connectshares it states no Configuration file exists. Unfortunately I am an utter “Linux idiot” and as of now have not figured out a way to fix this issue. Any help is appreciated.

::Hum… I have not a fix, but an alternative – in the case your shared folder is in Samba 2 or above, you can install the package ft10-transformation and use a script it includes- my_network_neighborwood.sh – to try to mount it (and get it displayed in your default file manager).
Please note that you do not have to enable the FT10 toolbar and menu to use the scripts this package installs…P.

Just a suggestion: This SMB mapping script works fine on its own and would be better off as standalone product rather than requiring bundling FT10 to be used. It is worth being a separate product as a complement to Connectshares…
I had been using Connectshares in the past but since some time ago I am just mapping SMB shares in fstab and mounting on demand.Live antiX Boot Options (Previously posted by Xecure):

::Thanks, but as much as I hate to say it, I have no idea what any of that means or how to go about preforming those steps. Is there some sort of visual guide that exists to handhold me? Sorry for the ignorance.

::Please, don’t apologise for not knowing how to do something! No one knows everything.
If you want to try my suggestion:
antiX Menu > Terminal.
Once on the terminal type (or copy and paste) this command:sudo apt update & sudo apt install ft10-transformation(this is 2 commands: the first part, before the “&” makes sure that your system’s list of available packages is updated to the latest version available. The second part installs the package I recommended, called “ft10-transformation”)
If asked for your password, type it and press enter. Wait for the install process to finish then you can close the window.
antiX Menu > Applications > Internet > Shared Folders
A window is displayed with a moving line, while the program tries to find your shared folder.
If folders are found, a list appears on a new window. Click the Shared folder you want to connect to.
If needed, enter the username and password on the next window, if you don’t have to enter a password to acces your shared folder, close that window. Your shared folder should appear, on your File Manager…P.
