This is something that has being bugging me a bit since a while already…
When correctly connected to wifi, Connman status normally reads “online” for the connected network. However, there are sometimes when it reads just “ready” instead.
It happened sometimes just by itself when booting AntiX 19.4, though most of times it changed to “online” after a while .
On AntiX 21, as far as I have seen, it instead has happened when disconnecting for some reason: connection got lost, then reconnected again; willingly disconnecting to change to another network temporarily, etc.Sometimes it goes back to “online” by itself eventually, some other times I have to disconnect, then reconnect, etc.
However, I observed that in both cases internet seems to work normally until now…
Must I worry about this Connman “ready” status instead of “online”? Can I do something for this?
Thanks beforehand.

::I’ve been noticing that with Connman for a very long time- it never bothered me, so, if I were you I won’t worry about that…

Lucasz said:Ready means that your connection has received full IP configuration (most likely from
dhcp).
Online is (by default) achieved by ConnMan making an http get request to:
#define STATUS_URL_IPV4 “http://ipv4.connman.net/online/status.html”
or
#define STATUS_URL_IPV6 “http://ipv6.connman.net/online/status.html”Depending on your network speed, and distance to connman.net, this can take a short
while.
In fact, if you are unlucky with the state of the internet it might even fail completely.
This would happen as well if your firewall is blocking outgoing port 80 connections to the
internet (I had that rule with a corporate firewall in one company).A service is usable in the Ready state. Although if the online check fails, the
top/default service might get “downgraded” and default routes might get deleted.
Especially if you have more than one connection available (e.g. ConnMan might fall back to
Ethernet). In that case you may end up with just a local subnet route.antiX Live system enthusiast.
