hello y’all! i finally made the jump to linux after way too much researches, and so far i’m really glad i came across this distro specifically, thank you all very much for contributing to such a wonderful community and forum ♥

with all that being said. i have trouble connecting online with my new install. i know. i’m sorry.

i run antiX-19.3-runit_x64-base on an Acer Swift SF114-31 over live usb, and i’m currently following the various instructions to set it up on my hdd. so far i looked up this forum, debian’s forum, Xecure’s (really neat!) video guide with connman, and still can’t get my wifi to connect in order to update before installing. (i was also planning on moving to sid, but eh might not be the brightest idea right now if i’m already struggling with wifi…)

so, here’s the situation: i can access connman from the settings panels, i have no problem toggling wifi on which is confirmed by rfkill list, scanning works just fine, but the agent refuses to connect to my particular wifi. i enter the passphrase, it waits a few seconds, and then i get a connect-failed message. my wifi’s a WPA2-PSK/AES which to my understanding shouldn’t prove to be an issue, it might be the passphrase itself which has several “:” thrown in but that sounds like a stretch (i remember seeing some bug reports about some passphrase characters throwing off connman, but iirc these were hella old), and other that that i’m at a loss.

console log dump with things i checked so far:
