I am having no issues installing kodi, either.

@johndingli, can you copy and paste the results of your attempted install after ‘sudo apt update’? For example:

          sudo apt install kodi

Best share info about your system, e.g. ‘inxi -Fzr’.

In case you try to install a downloaded DEB package, that’s another story and you have to handle the dependencies afterwards by running ‘apt install –fix-broken’.
Still, it may fail due to DEB for Ubuntu instead of Debian or you may be installing a package expecting Linux with ‘systemd’.

Please also do see the “sticky” post (sticky means it is kept at the top of recent posts) https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/how-to-install-applications-2020-version/

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libsmbclient : Depends: samba-libs (= 2:4.13.13+dfsg-1~deb11u5) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libwbclient0 (= 2:4.13.13+dfsg-1~deb11u5) but 2:4.17.5+dfsg-1~bpo11+1 is to be installed

This *might* help with the dependency issue.
