      Hiyall,
      How do I add CPU temperature to the conky? All of the advice I have googled, including this forum, has been unsuccessful.

      Live-USB = zzz-IceWM-antiX21-runit-64-base: static persistence
      VirtualBox= zzz-IceWM-antiX21-runit-64-base

        You already posted the question in https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/conky-temp/#post-86537

        You solve the problem as i did by searching then trying suggestions until you find one which works with your
        particular CPU stepping version and family.

        Not by repeated posts, which is called spamming the forum.

          Hi, there is a file ‘temp*_input’ usually in ‘/sys/devices/’.
          I have several PCs and the following lines in ‘conky’:
          1) fixed path:
          ${color}Temp [degC]:${alignr}${exec cat /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/hwmon/hwmon0/temp1_input | awk ' { printf "%.0f", $1/1000 } '}${color}
          2) search for the file each time (slows done, not elegant):
          ${color}Temp [degC]:${alignr}${exec cat $(find /sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:18.3/ -name 'temp*_input' | head -1) | awk ' { printf "%.0f", $1/1000 } '}${color}$

          My suggestion is that you use the below ‘find’ command
          find /sys/devices/ -name 'temp*input' 2>/dev/null
          inspect the discovered files and select one of them.
          If you have more cores, than you may consider displaying them all or some average value.

          Hope that helps.

            Hi, at the light of @ModdIt ‘s post it is true that you rather often post more than one topic to get a reply to a single question.

            I assume that you are not very experienced with (lean and mean/not all the bells and whistles) Linux distributions yet and I do believe that it can be frustrating not to know the answers or even not to understand the provided answers.
            Part of the process of using Linux is learning to use it with your own attempts at discovering the solutions (which may require web search, trying, failing etc.).
            1) Don’t be shy to admit that you are learning and that you are rather at the beginning of this process and that you do not understand a lot of things yet.
            2) Please, do consider adjusting your behavior and put more own effort into examining the answers/solutions.
            3) If you are afraid of breaking your system, you may run a “try-and-test” virtualised image where you can experiment with no harm done when you break it.
            I tend to keep up a TXT file with relevant changes/adjustments I make to the system and important packages I install.
            I occasionally backup my ‘~/.*’ and ‘/etc/’ (files and folders).
            This allows me to recover quickly from breaking the system and it makes re-installs easier (when all other attempts at fixing it fail).

            You will benefit from the aforementioned changes, namely 1) and 2), especially when considering the long run.
            I do know that you try to find solutions and in-person contacts; I recall your post: https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/sydney-group/

            Still some traits in your behavior will discourage members of this forum to help you (I believe that somebody already pointed this out in one of the topics you created).

            If you need some tips to get familiar with antiX, there are some sources:
            1) tipc/tricks section in antiX forum; also top posts in: https://www.antixforum.com/forums/forum/new-users/new-users-and-general-questions/
            2) videos at youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/runwiththedolphin/videos
            3) wiki: https://antixlinuxfan.miraheze.org/wiki/Table_of_contents
            4) there even is an MX-Linux sub-forum for antiX
            Though these do not replace in-person contact, they are a good start.
