I like to know how to create a swap partition before installation of antiX, and the size it should have (2X RAM rule?).
Or should I create a swap file instead? If yes, how i do it?
Thank you in advance for the support to newcomers 🙂
I recommend at least the amount of ram you have, but at least 2 GB if you don’t plan to try making your machine hibernate. If you have low ram, you might consider bumping up that swap figure.
Amount of swap space needed is dependent on your usage, & how much ram you have.
Because disk space is plentiful, I give it equal to ram on my 2GB & 4GB machines, but I could easily run my systems without any, as I mainly use the internet, or play music/watch videos, & small games like mahjongg/cards.
