[SOLVED] CTL-472 NOT WORKING in antiX- 19.4

hello, i’m trying to use my wacom tablet ctl-472 on my linux distro antiX 19.4. But its not working, the device does appears in lsusb
$ xsetwacom –list devices = doesnt show anything
$ xinput = also does’nt show wacom device
$ modinfo wacom | grep version
version: v2.00
srcversion: C18E18FC09BA53B5A599603
vermagic: 4.9.0-264-antix.1-amd64-smp SMP preempt mod_unload modversions
$ grep “” /sys/module/wacom*/version
v2.00
$ apt list –installed | grep wacom
libwacom-common/stable,stable,now 0.32-1 all [installed,automatic]
libwacom2/stable,now 0.32-1 amd64 [installed,automatic]
xserver-xorg-input-wacom/stable,now 0.34.99.1-1 amd64 [installed]

I have’nt installed anything from apt/synaptics for wacom

Please someone guide what can i do to make it work.

If this table is accurate, you need at least kernel version 4.16.

Please, install the antiX compiled Linux kernel 4.19 from the package installer (I think it is the first LTS latest kernel option there).
Then reboot and try again. If it still doesn’t work let us know.

thanks Xecure! that did work, i have browsed all sections of libwacom project github page but did’nt find the table which you hyperlinked to!! lol
now everything works

That is great news. Thank you for coming back to confirm that the Wacom tablet works with the 4.19 kernel.

If you have some time, please edit the first post, change the title and add [SOLVED] to it. I think this experience you have shared with us will surely help others figure out problems with their Wacom devices.

Yes, I hope this helps others and make antiX grow and get more popular. I’m literally a distro hopper and use to change 3 to 4 distros perday to figure out which is the best distro. My laptop is old pentium b950cpu with 4gigs ram and and really does work very very great with antiX on it. I’m learning more and more about this OS everyday and I’m really liking it.
Few problems here and there but I’m understanding about it.
