::I don’t think it is icewm related.
I tried to experiment, and I got the exact same results in fluxbox. I used screenkey to display key combination and I saw “Control+ISO_Next_Group” when Pressing Control + Alt + Shift. Very strange. I tested Alt + Shift and sometimes got Alt+Shift, others ISO_Next_Group.
I tried using antiX 17.4.1 and had similar results. I thought it could be my keyboard configuration, and went to the Keyboard Layout app.
I was going to test different Layouts when I got curious and checked Hotkeys Tab. I discovered that Layout switch is set to “Alt+Shift”. Changing it to something else (like Alt+CapsLock) enabled Control+Alt+Shift. Now I just checked in iceWM and Control+Alt+Shift+Right works.
Solution:
Change your Layout Switch in Keyboard Layout
Control Center > System > Set System Keyboard Layout > Hotkeys
Change the Layout switch to something else.Hope this helps

::Hmmmmmm, Nice catch if that fixes it.
No offense, but what is “Layout Switch” used for? I don’t understand its purpose.
Thanks 🙂

Excellent deduction! What’s happening then is that the key mapping at the system level (and possibly NOT IceWM).
Key definitions can also be changed by xmodmap; see man xmodmap for details.
If these definitions are fundamentally inaccurate, perhaps a code change could be made in the future, but for now, either the Keyboard Layout utility can be used or the xmodmap. NOTE that if you use the xmodmap to modify key definitions, you can put your changes into the configuration file of whatever shell you use; for instance, for Bash, use your ~/.bashrc file to change the key mappings as needed. Read the manpage for xmodmap for specific details.I remember always remapping a couple of keys – I think it may have been the backspace and DEL keys – on one UNIX workstation I was using. The actual behavior of those two keys was the reverse of what was labelled on the keys, so I’d simply change it for whatever shell or utility was performing in a different way; that was a LONG time ago; I’d have to read up on the details and experiment a bit myself to “get it right”.

That fixed it for me. Thanks!

::Yes, it worked on mine as well. well done, Xecure!
Hmmmmm, so fskbsetting is a GUI front end for setxkbmap
https://sourceforge.net/projects/fskbsetting/
https://wiki.parabola.nu/X_window_systemI see that I can use it to set the keyboard for a particular one, among other things…
Maybe we should use a default “Layout Switch key” that doesn’t conflict with the default window managers that come installed, though.

::Cool. I was having a problem just now where I was using a terminal-based text-editor, and an Alt-Shift keybinding didn’t work.
I even tried switching DE’s from IceWM to JWM (since IceWM has a lot of “C-A” style keybindings) I decided to take a peek here at the AntiX forum, and voilĂ , I found the solution. Thank you all! -
