Hello!
I tried to install Palemoon browser using Package installer first. No way, so I tried LXTerminal:
sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install palemoonAnd this is (in short) what I get:
Los siguientes paquetes tienen dependencias incumplidas: palemoon : Depende: libfontconfig1 (>= 2.12.6) pero 2.11.0-6.7+b1 va a ser instaladoI understand that this means that the browser needs a newer version of that library, not included in the repos (I’m staying with default, stable Debian repos). Anyway, could not install at all. So, I downloaded the browser pack from the official page, extracted it in some folder, and it does start with the “palemoon” executable inside; I created a desktop shorcut and that’s it, but I am posting this as I couldn’t find a thread about this, so is a possible bug that perhaps you could want to fix.
Have a nice day!

::Hello,
I encountered the same dependency issue trying to install palemoon on Antix 17.3.1, live USB.
I used the “test” debian repository to install libfontconfig1 in its newer version. Then I switched off the “test” debian repo. Then I installed palemoon from the stable (stretch) repo.
I agree with you, it looks like a bug, it should be “installable” without these steps.

::I tought about trying the same as you, but I think that downloading the browser directly lets me check for updates via the same browser, and update browser and libraries and whatnot at the same time, just in case the library (or else) were upgraded again breaking dependencies. Anyway, the question is no big deal, due to easy to try solutions… But I am thinking from a non-techie perspective -my case, mostly-, who wants something like an installer working out of the box. Anyway, to be fair, this distro succeeds, IMHO, with flying colours in this aspect, and I just can thank the people behind it: in its category, it’s a really amazing distro and the best for me (and I’ve tried a few).

::Seems it’s the only thing to do. Libfontconfig1 2.13 is available in MX stable repo but I don’t know how Package Installer works in antiX.

::It’s really not recommended to enable the debian testing-repos to install something, what doesn’t work without.
You can easily get into bad depency-problems.Better post a bug-report, like done here (how shall the devs otherwise know about it)
The palemoon browser, offered by antiX is from the mx-repo.
It must have been overlooked that it also needs a backported libfontconfig1.March 20, 2019 at 2:43 am #19587Member

::From MX Stevo 😉
However, antiX users can always use the Jessie/Stretch/Buster versions from my OBS repo–add the repo and its key to get automatic updates, or just download and install the single deb package. See the “download packages” on this page:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:stevenpusser/palemoon
The repo also has the latest firejail and firetools if you want to use those with PM
