      I just tested sudo reboot and it also works for me after the gmd install and purge.

        Ehm…I think you found the source of the problem.
        I confess that I was misguided by sudo, using my own pwd (not root’s).
        To my defense, the installed documentation is far from complete and points to the home page one, which has nothing to add.
