      Is the only difference between base and full iso’s the lack of LibreOffice suite in base.

        Not only.

        This is for antiX-17, but antiX-19 isn’t much different.

        Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

        antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

          No, there are more differences.
          For example, the entire printer software is missing on base.
          Here is a list, maybe already slightly outdated, that refers to antiX17.

          Uups, too late.

            lists of preinstalled packages for each antiX 19 flavor are provided here:
            https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/files/Final/antiX-19/

            lookit:

            $ wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/files/Final/antiX-19/antiX-19_x64-full-package-list
            $ wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/files/Final/antiX-19/antiX-19_x64-base-package-list
            $ sort -u antiX-19_x64-full-package-list > full
            $ sort -u antiX-19_x64-base-package-list > base
            $ comm -23 full base
            $ comm -23 full base > inFull_NOTinBase.txt
            $ sed -ie ‘s/[^-.a-z0-9].*//g’ inFull_NOTinBase.txt
            In the line above, use apostrophe or quotationmark characters around the sed expression.
            (The forum software mangles the intended characters, replacing them with ‘ ’ curly swirly characters)

            The above series of commands generated a list containing 327 package names.
            I have posted a copy of the list here: https://pastebin.com/raw/z9R2RtRN
            but am explaining howto in case someone wants to check full_vs_core or base_vs_core or…

              Very cool. Although the sed command gave me an error and didn’t work (maybe because I’m running antiX 17 at the moment), all the others worked as expected and gave me the nicely formatted printout (in the file) of what is not installed & what those pkgs do. (Now to look into sort & comm to see how those commands work…)

              confirmed antiX frugaler, since 2019

                The forum software mangled the intended sed command. I’ve added a disclaimer to my earlier post.

                comm
                will complain that the list contents are not in properly sorted order if not run through the sort command beforehand

                sort -u
                the u option might be unnecessary here (might just be ingrained in my muscle memory)

                comm -23 specifies
                “I want the output to include lines that are unique to the left-hand file
                and I want to suppress from the output identical lines present in both files
                and I want to suppress from the output any lines that are unique to the right-hand file.”

                  Wow. That’s a lot however given the modest cpu and ram I have I think I’ll stick with base and install what I need as I need it. I should have perhaps made it clear I use the 386 iso.
                  Thanks for the replies.

                    Hi skidoo,

                    Tried to download the package list for antiX-19 core and net – got a 404 error. (Checked several times to make sure I didn’t have an error in the URL).

                    (Here is the wget command I used with -base- (same one I used to get -core- and -net-): wget https://sourceforge.net/projects/antix-linux/files/Final/antiX-19/antiX-19_x64-base-package-list).

                          Choose an available image once you reference either the V19.4 or V21 directory.

                            Hi Brian,

                            I was trying to download lists of the files in the core and newt versions to see which files are included in core but not net. The wget command didn’t yield a file with the files.
