      Hello.

I have this issue where when I boot the OS with a secondary monitor connected the logon manager stretches itself across both screens, placing the mouse and login input fields between both screens making them almost impossible to figure out what and where it is being typed.

So far the only way I could improve the situation is by tweaking the slim theme to place the logon credentials at 25% X axis, centering it on the leftmost monitor, not ideal. I can use xrandr to disable all but the primary monitor AFTER starting the user session but unfortunately have not found a way so that this works before starting a session and avoid editing the logon theme.

      Any advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks.

I think your solution was the good solution. Slim is very limited.

in the arch wiki they recommend something almost identical to what you did:

General Live Boot Parameters for antiX.

I didn’t actually find anything that pointed me in that direction. After a few hours of roaming several forums to no avail, being the Linux noob that I am, I just didn’t know any better and went with the last resort – theme editing. In any case, the end result works well enough with the input fields centered on the primary screen in multi mode and 1/3rd from the left edge of the screen in single mode.

Thanks for letting me know though, it spares me from going in circles with this.
