If someone makes a respin do they have to remove all antix branding like
manyroads did removing all antix stuff?
I was thinking of using antix-core unmodified buildup to desktop with all
changes and making the iso.

If it’s for yourself, no, but if you want to create your own distro, I’d say yes, as it is no longer the original, (unless anti would have it as an alternative, but I think we have enough variety to choose from.)

Like I stated my iso would be a core/net rice-up scripted and was wondering
on including any of the antiX specifics…. like the cli-cc, the installer,
and any antiX specific scripts … live tools.
I was going to change name, wallpapers, etc.
but if it based and uses same antiX and Debian repos
can I include any of them on a respin with iso-snapshot?fatmac
Well, I think it would be nice to contact anticapitalista personally, those utilities are probably under the usual licencing, so probably OK, but it would be nice to have your distro sanctioned by the team, wouldn’t it. 🙂

My input on the matter: anything that uses any kind of GNU license, Version 2 or Version 3 permits and even encourages reuse, with the qualifications that the license must be cited and anyone who identifies with authorship should be cited in the credits.
It’s just like writing a research paper – you can use other people’s work, as long as specific credit is given to those who have written public works.
If you do not give others credit, that is plagiarism.

To the O/P – manyroads did not remove antiX ‘branding’ (since there really isn’t any and if he did it was not at any request from antiX), but he may have been asked to remove MX branding with his mini MX mix (I really don’t know).
We welcome anyone making respins of antiX, we want people to do so.
You do not even need to de-brand.
