I upgraded Virtualbox from a 5.x version to 6.1. I was not aware however that this new version requires VT-x, which is not available on my somewhat older machine. As it is, none of my previously created VM’s works anymore.

Can I downgrade again to Virtualbox 5.x? And how do I proceed to do so?

      Thanks.

EDIT: Sorry, I found Anti’s post about Virtualbox, and I think I’ll manage. Btw, it seems the 5.x packages are still present in the current repo’s.

It is good you found the solution.

For those who come in the future and search for this, the method is quite easy.

        1. First you enable the virtualbox repo from the apt various.list. An easy way is through antiX Repo manager
Control Center > Maintenance > Repo Manager > Individual sources. Then you tick on the one for virtualbox in the various.list (at the bottom).

        2. Adding the VirtualBox repository public key
In a terminal, login as root
        su
        Then get the repository key
        wget -q -O- https://www.virtualbox.org/download/oracle_vbox_2016.asc | apt-key add

        3. Update the package list
In another terminal (or the same one)
        sudo apt update
Check to see if virtualbox 5 is in the list
        apt-cache search virtualbox | grep ^virtualbox-5

        4. Install virtualbox
Use synaptic or terminal, or whatever.
