Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.
antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Yes the systemd burden is there. As for VBox… that seems like a strange ‘feature’.
If I get the tie, I may try building something on antiX19 (after release) that uses the layla dotfiles etc.;)

::The Live behaves also in QEMU very stubbornly.
The keyboard layout and the language settings can only be set during installation, which does not affect the reboot immediately. It is a tinkering.I think it is absolutely important to use the refractainstaller in text mode, otherwise it won’t work for “a foreigner”.
No comparison with antiX ! 😉

::Any more comments on it?
Manyroads, did you try running it off antiX instead?
If you were going to do that, which flavor of antiX would be easiest to build it from?

::I’m using my packagecomp to build a antiX 19.2 runit 386 version just for fun. If it goes well I should be done by supper. If not, well… You know…

I’ll build another one too just for fun.
I do already have a runit version installed and a regular full version, but this’ll be good practice.
This tine I’ll build a full runit based version using the 19.2 release, but I won’t do dwm, I’ll use one of the main window managers
and mainly experiment with persistence or rebuilding directly from the snapped image; whatever I can figure out.- This reply was modified 3 years, 1 month ago by Brian Masinick.

::I’ve never tried my packagecomp with a Debian based distro, nor from a core based or 386 based distro, and never tried runit.
I may run into the “many points of failure” scenario.
So far, I’m doing ok. I have a system booting into the antiX 386 runit core, and got the dwmx home and etc copied in to a holding area. I may cheat and hard wire it for now…

::I have created a new USB containing a n antiX 19.2 runit version installed using IceWM.
I am about to remaster the changes I have made
