As far as I know you can’t do that on the default antix File Manager (Rox filer). But antiX full comes with zzzfm – that does allow that, as well as a bookmark bar, etc.
        You can:
-Run zzzfm from the antiX menu > Applications subfolder
-Change to a zzzfm managed desktop (that makes zzzfm the default file manager)
-launch zzzfm form the terminal or from app-select

Note: if you are using antiX 19, then try spacefm (zzzfm is a more modern fork of spacefm)

        Also, please read https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/short-essential-how-to-list-for-the-complete-linux-newbie/#post-37202
It will probably save you a lot of time!

Hit “/” and you get a bar.

@blur13 – I learned something new about rox filer thanks to you – but, at least in my Desktop the / key in my numeric keypad does nothing, only the / on the main part of the keyboard (I have to press Shift and 7 to get the address bar – that feature does make rox filer suck a little bit less for mainstream users- I’ve been mostly using spacefm/zzzfm for over 4 years now, I never really got used to rox filer, despite like using it as a backup file manager, when zzzfm misbehaves)

Hello PPC in spacefm i just start typing for a search matching, without focusing on the location bar. is it that way in zzz?
spacefm a little box lower right shows the input… (similar in thunar by the way. ..)
