Hi everyone,
I can’t connect on some website; I can’t login, is it cookies problem ? Like my bank (axa) my internet provider (sfr) or like entertainment website (Twitch tv) … When I login, there is nothing, like blank page, or not connect, and the password is good, and the login too. But after the reload of the page, I don’t have my connected login, so I can’t read my profil or use the service. Anyone know this bug ? Thank you. – On falkon web browser.

::You might find it useful to have Latest Firefox and use a user.js to quieten it.
For some websites non mainstream browsers are blocked. even esr, i use Ing as bank, fox works
palemoon etc not so. on fox Arkenfox user.js plus more junk removal. Plenty of posts
in forum, if you need more help pls ask. Couple of streaming sites used by my daughter, Opera is working. Better than chrome..Maybe.You wrote:

recognise you as an authorised user.November 14, 2020 at 9:14 pm #44998Anonymous

Well, the problem you have described is probably not a “bug”. Certain sites intentionally configure their webserver to selectively discriminate against (redirect, or disallow) requests, based on the “User-Agent” string contained in a requestor’s http request headers.
Why so? Partially as a defense against crude bots//scripts which send an overly-generic (or none) UA identifier… and partially due to an ingrained motivation to avoid the struggle to “support” (help requests) from folks using various quirky, or older version, web browser applications.
If falkon permits you to customize (spoof) the user-agent string it emits, doing so will probably avoid the problem.

::I don’t think the problem is being caused by antiX.
From your other post “boot line” it looks like you are getting a lot of errors from your VPN program. That would slow any browser down to a crawl. I would suggest installing programs available from the Package Installer or Synaptic package manager that come with antiX. Programs that come from other places may not work right, and cause things like “systemd” errors that were in your log.
I would worry that if you remove those programs there might still be corruption. My suggestion is to start over from the flashdrive again and use programs that are compatible with antiX.
From your other thread:
you can read here the pastebin of my boot log : http://paste.debian.net/1172719$ uname -r

::Try ungoogled-chromium or install badwolf (it’s in the repo, you can install it with
sudo apt install badwolf
If using badwolf, make sure you activate the JavaScript button (JS) before trying home banking, youtube, etc…
Please note that badwolf functions on a perpetual “incognito mode”- it does not store cookies or passwords, history, etc…P.

::if the command “wc -l /etc/hosts” reports thousands of lines, yeah {sigh} well-intended but hamfisted “preconfigured adblocking, via hostsfile entries” may be the cause of your problem.
open the controlCentre, click Network tab, click Adblock
(popup) click OK
(dialog window) tick the checkbox labeled UNBLOCK then click OK
The popup window will close, and the effect of “unblocking” takes immediate effect.
If the web browser is currently running, you should exit browser and relaunch, in case it has retained cached DNS entries.November 26, 2020 at 8:21 pm #45902Member
