I’ve recently moved from Windows 10 to antiX 21, and – despite all the CPU/RAM/battery-usage being much lower than that of Windows’ – my computer’s fan is constantly spooling (it never did this on Windows). I’m fairly sure it’s because of the fan hardware not being supported on Linux. If that’s the case, are there any programs/tools I can use to tweak/fix this fan issue?

Not sure if this is necessary, but I’m using an HP Pavilion laptop with an Intel CPU.

      Thanks in advance.

Have you checked the laptop for dust, but you say anyway it isn’t the case on windows.

This might not be applicable to laptops, but on my desktop I can control the fans through the bios. I’ve more or less turned them off. I monitor system temperatures using lm-sensors displayed on conky. antiX is so light on resources that the cores are rarely above 40 degrees C.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but the problem has seemed to have miraculously solved itself now. Not sure why it was happening in the first place. Thanks for the help though, everyone.
