::Hi there ohh!
Which version of antiX on the box and which version to install on the usb stick?

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

::Hello anti
Don’t know if you can read the attachment, but when mounted the usb stick has a mount point of /media/antiX-Live-usb the script on the usb stick looks for all the places except sdb1 and sdb2 where these two reside.Every matter requires prior knowledge.

::skidoo and anti,
I’ve tried booting on 3 different systems and same result.
I have used boot cheats,
bdev blab buuid from=all from=usb bdir=
basically every cheat i know of in every iteration I can concoct and still no joy. This is the third different try with the control centre gui, I think I will go to the cli version and see if that makes any differenceI’ll repost when I’ve done that.
got to run for now.
thank you for the help
cheers,ohh

::Used another usb stick (really old) 2gb and it worked fine. Apparently the new sticks I was using were problematic. One was a 64gb Gorilla Drive,two sandisk cruzier glides, one 64gb the other 16gb, and a verbatim stick 8gb. I used the gui and cli apps on all these on my regular setup,(inxi above post 8109) and on two of my laptops, Even created usb sticks on both laptops one using mx17 and the other running antix17 both fully updated and they produced the same results. Even tried and 32iso instead of a 64 on both. No joy. Very perplexing. One thing I did notice when creating the last one that was successful, during the usb maker’s process the files created did not automount and at the end of the process the stick was unmounted.
cheers,

::Hello ohh,
Have you tried the other usb ports..my hp has usb 2.0 ports on one side and usb 1.0 on
the other and booting usb on the 1.0 one fails everytime 4 me. Your newer sticks might
need more power that the old ports can’t deliver. You could try a powered hub if have
access to one. -
