      When launching xcalc in a terminal a warning message is issued
      see attached xcalc_warning_message.jpg

      The simple fix is to install xbitmaps

      sudo apt install xbitmaps
[...]
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  xbitmaps
0 upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Need to get 32.1 kB of archives.
After this operation, 228 kB of additional disk space will be used.
