I seem to be experiencing a weird menu problem when using Fluxbox after updating my system. Well over half my icons are missing from their apps, and any apps that appear to have a description next to their name cannot be opened with the right click menu. For example: HexChat (IRC Client), Firefox ESR (Web Browser). Programs without a description, show their associated icon, and open fine though. Pretty much all of the icons are visible and work in IceWM and JWM, and open with the right click menu, but the Refresh Menu button seems to not be working properly across them all.
Yeah… you seem to have been caught it the “crossfire” of menu changes the Dev team is trying to implement- it’s nothing serious, but it can make using the fluxbox menu very difficult.
You have 2 choices:
– wait for the Dev team to fix it (probably any time soon)
– fix it yourself (please be warned that any change you make will be undone when the antiX menu is updated):
antiX menu > terminal > and then:
sudo geany ~/.fluxbox/menu-applications
find replace all “))” with a simple space and the closed parenthesis character ” )”
You can do this by using Ctrl + H ), look for “))” and replace it with ” )” (do not type the quotation marks). Save your changes and your menu should be working perfectly.
Edit: I’m glad you are using another Window Manager, while this problem is being sorted out!

@PPC Thanks. The Devs have made the necessary changes and all is working as it should.
